Celebrating a 30-Year Legacy of Success
Texas has the eighth largest economy in the world and more Fortune 500 companies than any other state, but this has not happened by accident. It’s the result of hard work by volunteers from around the state and smart policy choices by our leadership and Legislature, including embracing tort reform 30 years ago.
Commercial Vehicle Litigation
The biggest threat to many Texas businesses today? Abusive lawsuits targeting commercial vehicle fleets. Texas has seen a 118 percent increase in motor vehicle lawsuits since 2008, with one in ten crashes resulting in a lawsuit in 2019. And any vehicle with a company logo is a target.
Texas Needs Honest and Competent Judges
“Improving our legal system starts with ensuring we elect competent and impartial judges to apply our laws and Constitution as written, without legislating from the bench.”
—Gov. Greg Abbott
Making Business Our Business
Specialized business courts like the Delaware Court of Chancery can be an important addition to a state’s economic foundation. These courts quickly and expertly handle complex business litigation, freeing up other courts to handle other types of cases.
TLR Tuesdays is hosted by Lee Parsley and Mary Tipps and features conversations about the Texas litigation environment and the reforms that are crucial to keeping Texas the best place in the nation to live and to work.
